Our main lodge, the "Norway House," was built in 1884. It and five guest cabins are attractively strewn along the eight acre peninsula known as Norway Point. Each cabin is privately nestled in its own picturesque location along the waterfront within a short walking distance from the main lodge and its dining room.

BackcoveEach of our cabins are rustic, yet comfortably furnished. Each cabin offers a private and comfortable shelter with beds, blankets and furniture, and a fine porch to enjoy a waterfront view of the lake. In the traditional north woods manner, heat is supplied by iron stoves, and the wood and kindling supply is refreshed daily. Propane gas lights, cold running water, and clean portable flushes round out a dream log cabin in the Maine woods. Private flush toilets and hot showers are kept immaculately clean daily in the centrally located bath house.

The Dining Room in the Main LodgeEach of the cabins on the mainland are set up for the American Plan (see Rates & Reservations), where all home cooked meals are served in our lodge dining room. Nancy's excellent cooking is second to none, and some of her recipes have been featured in a Maine recipe book entitled "In The Maine Woods" by Mary Arlen (copies are available in our camp store).

Here is what you might find on the menu in our dining room:

We start your day in the dining room with a hearty Maine Woods breakfast, which may include:

Eggs (cooked any style)
Plain and Blueberry Pancakes
French Toast
Bacon and Sausage
Home Fries
Homemade Toast
Hot or Cold Cereal
A muffin, donut or coffee cake is made each morning.

We prepare and pack the lunch of your choice to be taken with you on your outings and excursions during the day. Thermos bottles are filled for you, too.

Ham and Cheese
Roast Beef
Cream Cheese and Olive
Egg Salad
Tuna Salad
Peanut Butter and Jelly
Cookies or bars and fruit are added as well.

At the end of the day, your sumptuous dinner in our dining room includes a bread basket, an appetizer, one item entree, dessert and drink. Homemade breads, rolls, biscuits and desserts are made daily. Some of our dinner entrees include:

Turkey Dinner (with all the trimmings)
Lasagna or Spaghetti
Roast Pork, Mashed Potato and Veggies
Barbecued or Baked Chicken, Rice Pilaf and Veggies
Baked or Broiled Haddock
Pot Roast, Gravy, Boiled Potato and Carrots
New England Boiled Dinner
Stir Fry Dishes
Shrimp Scampi on Rice
